Residential Composting - Drop-Off

Sure! You may place pumpkins in the bin as long as your food fits too.

No, but you may drop off leaves and tree limbs at our facility. We charge a minimum fee of $15. Truck full of yard waste (leaves and tree limbs) is $40. Landscape trailer is $65.
Residential Recycling

Mixed paper, metal cans, plastics #1 #2 & #5 (soda, water, salad dressing, laundry detergent, shampoo, and conditioner bottles; milk jugs; etc.), cardboard, and paperboard. Plastic bags, glass, styrofoam, and trash cannot be placed in your recycle bin.

Accepted items: all glass containers, e.g. beer and wine bottles, glass jars; home window glass; auto glass pieces. Not accepted items: Whole windshields; any composite glass product, including ceramic, Pyrex, Corningware, dinner plates/china, lids, or caps.

Fertile Ground works with an Oklahoma-based glass plant that converts recycled glass into a cullet used to make new glass products.

Fertile Ground sends plastics to a recycling facility in Texas and to a facility in Missouri that turns waste plastic into pallets and outdoor products.

Fertile Ground sends aluminum to a recycling facility in Oklahoma and sends steel to a recycling facility in Texas.

Fertile Ground sends paper and cardboard to a facility in Texas, where it is turned into materials that are shipped to box plants in Texas, Arizona, California, and Mexico.

Most major food distribution companies carry compostable products. You can verify if a product is 100% compostable by entering the sku# here: https://bpiworld.org/, or by checking the item for “BPI Certified”. We only accept BPI Certified products in our compost.
